I can’t believe it – clay and webwork done

Here is what I posed to CITY-o-Clay today…

ClayMates:

I actually got some clay and webwork done. I can’t believe it.

Ok… for the new group members. It’s been months since I’ve been able to do any clay or update my website, long story, check my blog for details.

I’ve been making beads for the last couple of years and just bagging them up, thinking “I’ll get to them one of these days.”

This week end was “one of those days”.  Here is the new necklace using my beloved “Tongues of Fire” beads. Tongues of Fire uses only white, black, red and yellow. All the beads you see are just four colors. How you manipulate the clay will make those colors look very different when compressed as opposed to when stretched out.

The tutorials for the beads that went into that necklace I rounded up on a separate page because I’ll be referring to those beads in the next couple of web sections. New members, I don’t show my stuff to sell it to you. I show my stuff and then give you tutorials on how to do these techniques. Some folks are so new that they might not know that.

Those who have been here for a while know that I have to rebuild the web sections that have slide shows. The new browsers don’t like FrontPage 2003 slide shows. The two sections that got rebuilt this week end are:

I can’t tell you how happy I am to be able to just sit down and string the beads that I’ve been making for the last couple of years.

As an aside, for those who are following my divorce proceedings. I have the final papers and will be taking them down to the Family Law Center to get notarized when I sign them. The end of this legal wrangle is just about done. That’s why I celebrated with stringing beads, taking pictures, building web pages and posting here. That’s what I would have rather been doing other than wrestling with a paperwork golem for months.

I’m a happy gal right now.

++++++++++++++

As I was checking this blog post I realized that the last picture in a 26 picture tutorial has been neglected because I had a typo on each of the 26 pages. I had typed 28 instead of 26 and no one made mention. Probably because if they got a 404 message of a page missing they just shrugged and back spaced to the tutorial or clicked off to else where. Well this is the picture that hasn’t been seen unless the thumbnail was clicked on the index.

  1. This necklace is a freekin’ stunner!! It looks like it should grace the neck of the finest African King or Queen or maybe a truly noble prince. The design is awesome and just plumb exotic!
    You may have been away from the clay for a while but you sure haven’t lost your touch.
    Glad to have you back in the zone honey … I’ve missed your inspirating ways.
    Love you a bushel and a peck…
