Day of the Dead New England Tour: November 2011

What's with the "sliding scale" fees?

or

WTFees?

Official PayPal SealRegister and pay in advance, save $5.00 and  insure your place in the workshop.

I know that some people are going to be saying "WTF" about the fees. That's why this page's url is "WTFees". Why do I charge the unemployed $20 and the employed $50? Because the unemployed have less money to spend on a polymer clay workshop. But the employed have an opportunity to save money and maybe even make money. Let me explain.

If the employed want to pay less all they have to do is bring a friend who will pay full price, then the fee goes down to $20.

If you bring two friends who pay full price, you get in for free no matter if you have a job or not.

Bring three friends who pay full price and I'll kiss your cheek and give you a reading on your astrology chart.

If you're unemployed and don't have the $20, bring a friend who can pay full price and you get in for free.

Car pool too while you're at it.

It's an incentive program for people to bring other folks who will pay full price.

Now let's say you organized a gathering of clayers who pay the full price, let's say 8 friends who are paying $50 each, that's $400 for the afternoon. I give you 1/3 and that's $133 that you didn't have at the beginning of the day.

Here's another example: Let's say you gather 10 friends for astrology mini readings for a day at your home. We charge everyone $30 for a reading that would be a 1/2 hour. A lot of astrologers do $1.00 per minute for these sort of readings. That's $300. I give you 1/3rd, that's $100 that you didn't have at the start of the day.

10 1/2 hour readings take 5 hours, so plan a pot luck (no alcohol) to keep everyone busy while folks are getting their readings. I'll need access to a private room (no one gets a reading in front of others) and a computer so I can get to astro.com to cast the chart. I can email the chart wheel and other data to the person's email address if you don't have or don't want to use your printer.

If you have a group of friends who want to learn about astrology that's another option. I would do a half day workshop teaching folks beginning astrology for a flat fee of $250. What you charge at the door over that is your own business.

My traveling around is not just to make money off of people who want to come to learn about polymer clay, get their astrology charts read, or learn how to read astrology charts. I offer an opportunity for the enterprising person to make money with me.

What other polymer clay teacher or astrologer offers you a piece of the action?
