Putting the Abalone 2002 colors through their paces I've been wanting to show all y'all this trick. A lot of new clayers moan and groan about doing pinch pots. So don't do them then. This is one way to do a vase or pot without having to do as much shaping. You start out with wedges. Look at the sample wedges over at the lower right. See how the point has the smallest cane and as you go up the wedge the cane is larger and more squashed and in the end over hanging. This is just one way to do a wedge. You can do a wedge any old way you want. Cut a handful of these wedges, join at the points where the bottom of the vase will be and join the seams. Easy Breezy pot building.
