When Denise first mentioned doing a wreath, I immediately thought “there is no way I’ve got time for this.” Except I really loved the idea of making a group project that we could sell and help support the group. And Denise made it so easy to do—a somewhat flexible deadline that was far enough in the future for me to figure something out. What I learned from doing it is that the inspiration will be there when needed and it comes from quite a variety of places. I had some raw pumpkins and apples (from last year!) that I was initially just going to put together and send as autumn-type pieces. But while I was emailing back and forth to Denise, she inspired me to add a little more to the pieces. Make them a little more special, a little more Halloween—so I added the kitties. The first kittens I’ve ever made, actually. Seeing the wreath together just drives home to me that, if you put your mind to something, no matter how diversified all the parts may be (we’ve got international pieces on our wreath!), it can come together into something quite wonderful. And the majority of the credit for this wreath has to go to Denise for all the work she put into it and to NJ for all her support and leadership on this list. :0) Eva |
