Fearless Leader: now white bread is a blend of white clay with light brown, done as a blend and rolled like a jelly roll and reduced Fearless Leader: I'll get the link Fearless Leader: Biz-Archive/food/PBandJ/Bread-grp Fearless Leader: peanut butter, well I use a melted cheddar cheese mix and some mashed grape cane, mixed with Translucent liquid sculpey to make it gooshy pasadena_cal: Put in some whole wheat grains?? Fearless Leader: Biz-Archive/food/PBandJ-Grp Fearless Leader: lace cane for whole wheat Fearless Leader: this is my gooey mini food pallet pasadena_cal: What is clay type and mix?? Fearless Leader: it's sticky Fearless Leader: it's Premo, the mix is "God Only Knows" Fearless Leader: eyeball it pasadena_cal: Those knives are neat. DTIntermart: ... food on the right :) stargazer_sbpcg: is just a sheet of clay run thru the PM with the wavy texture sheet from Shade-Tex stargazer_sbpcg: then i "painted" it with gold ink... greatauntjudy left the room stargazer_sbpcg: which settled into the grooves... stargazer_sbpcg: then i let it dry overnight... stargazer_sbpcg: today i cut a piece off and ran it thru the PM several times and it spread out and "crackled" the pattern... stargazer_sbpcg: looks cool, huh? debsdv: I love it. What kind of ink did you use? Rossija: Yes, another version of scales.... Hmmm... debsdv: Thank you stargazer_sbpcg: you can use Pearlescent Ink too (by Daler-Rowney) DTIntermart: I love it Jean stargazer_sbpcg: cuz they don't stretch when you stretch the clay, they crack instead... :) stargazer_sbpcg: a box i made... Rossija: That's pretty! stargazer_sbpcg: it's tough to make them points.. stargazer_sbpcg: this is my new lentil shape maker... it's a giant red wooden bead... stargazer_sbpcg: sort of like a knob on a bedpost... DTIntermart: did you make the bead? stargazer_sbpcg: the clay sticks really good so it's easy to sand and buff while it's stuck on the wooden bead... stargazer_sbpcg: nope, didn't make it... debsdv: I don't get it. How does it work? DTIntermart: is it clay? pasadena_cal: Do you bake the clay on the bead? stargazer_sbpcg: yup stargazer_sbpcg: so you cut a circle, put in on the wooden bead, and bake... DTIntermart: dUH, JUST NOTICED YOUU SAID IT WAS WOOD , SORRY stargazer_sbpcg: then you make another... stargazer_sbpcg: s'ok, doug debsdv: Wow. That's great. could you put a small hinge on it and make a compact? stargazer_sbpcg: you can put rice inside before sticking the two pieces together... stargazer_sbpcg: that sounds like a cool idea deb! Shannon: nvm...its over ur head...lol stargazer_sbpcg: oh good DTIntermart: yEA MAKE THWE HING FROM 2 WIRE COILS BAKED IN THE HALVS THEN PUT A WIRE PIN IN THCOILS TO HOLD TOGETHER,. stargazer_sbpcg: yeah, sounds like it would work! stargazer_sbpcg: might even be cool to sculpt into a "shell" shape... :D Rossija: Cool idea Doug. Rossija: how do you tell how hard wire is? stargazer_sbpcg: speaking of turtle... DTIntermart: HARD WIRE IS HARD TO BEND :) DTIntermart: USUALLY SAYSIT, Rossija: So you need something like a jig to make the spiral? DTIntermart: CRAFT WIRE CAN BE HEATED SHAPED & COLED QUICK TO HARDEN DTIntermart: i USED A SKEWER.... DTIntermart: WRAP THE COIL AROUND IT, A SPIRAL WILL NOT WORK NEEDS TO BE ACOIL SPRING... DTIntermart: YOPU CAN ALSO JHARDEN THE WIRE BY BHAMMERING IT GENTLY WHILWE ON THE SKEWER... DTIntermart: HAMERING LINES UP THE MOLECULAR MATRIX OF THE WIRE.. AS DOES HEATING..... Rossija: if using a coil, how does the pin work to hold them? I was picturing a pair of spirals meshed with a pin holding them together. pasadena_cal: Jean - that's the turtle head? Rossija: yep. Where do you get the little bottles to put the canes on? stargazer_sbpcg: hmmm.... what else... stargazer_sbpcg: oh, you can get them from vets... stargazer_sbpcg: or opthamologists... (empty contact lense container) stargazer_sbpcg: sometimes from the chemotherapy section at hospitals...
