Sometimes cane slices just look too flat. Even with highlights and shading like on these leaves. Even with blends, that were used in these flower petals. Out of frustration I started pushing the faux wood grain chop background to accentuate the flowers.

After pushing the background back away from the flower and leaves. I pushed the leaves to be at a lower level than the flowers. Then I pushed in the flower petals to be lower towards the center of the flower and higher at the edge of the petal.
