Reposting Old Stories From The Bonsai Trailer Court

I’m reposting stories I’ve had on my website in the “Bonsai Trailer Court” section, for years. All the graphics attached to the stories I made with Photoshop and a Wacom tablet and they are also hella old. I’m not going to get cringy about my amateur digital graphics efforts. They are authentic efforts of the self-taught artist. Just as no one taught me how to write a story or make a figurine out of polymer clay. Maybe if I were taught such things in a formal environment, I might not have found my voice or style of sculpting.

The old stories are getting dusted off and edited a bit. Not much. My older sister Linda always said I was like Aunt Clara on Bewitched…my spells are bad.

The main reason I am reposting the old stories here is I want to have all my stories in the same place. It’s a bit risky since I’ve had a handful of WordPress blogs that went belly up for some reason or another.

The only story in this blog that is professionally published is “Saying Solly“. For information about that short story collection check out “My Mother – Myself” here in the Inspiration section.

I wrote it for free for my late boss lady Edy Henderson. I was her administrative assistant at AOL’s New Technologies before the great Dot Com crash. She called me asking for a story about me and my mom, for a collection of stories she and some gal pals were putting together. Pro Bono. Sure, I thought, why not? I got a ton of stories about my mom. “How many words and when do you need it?” She told me a number and time frame. I got her the story back in one or two days. Since I’m not making any money off of the book, I feel ok about sharing it on my website and this blog.

All the other stories found on this blog are not published anywhere but here. I’m not charging anyone to read them. I’m mildly surprised when people do read my stuff, writing has always been like talking to myself. If you’ve already read my old stuff, then thanks. If your new to my writing and aren’t put off, then also, thanks.
