Bonsai
Trailer Court NaNoWriMo This page started in 2017 and as always there was no plan. It is 2023 now. I'll just keep on adding stuff to this page no matter what year it manifested, until I find all the places this URL is linked, rename this page, and change those links. That's what happens when there is no plan. |

NaNoWriMo
Prep: Add me as a Buddy, I'm AuntyAlias "For NaNoWriMo 2023, we’re embracing the magic of fairy tales: talking animals, enchanted lands, unimagined possibilities glittering just around the corner, waiting to be discovered by the lucky storyteller." https://nanowrimo.org/dashboard Are you ready? April 2023 CampNaNoWriMo 50K+
words: This CampNaNoWriMo effort was spent experimenting on weird
short stories inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and other speculative
fiction writers. It was the first departure from the K-Rave universe
that I've been wandering about in since 2017. I'm still editing the
short stories but when I a done I will add a few in the
Bonsai Trailer Court.

April 2023 Update: The Thumbdrive
used to store this content was corrupted. I lost all of the new
content. I learned not to store new content on only one location.
11-29-2022: NaNoWriMo 50K words. K-Rave: The Saga Continues. The new content focused on the Occult community. What is the difference between Root Doctors, Hoo Doo, Voo Doo, or Witch Craft? What is the difference between the Occult and a Cult? |

words. This NaNoWriMo effort was a resurrection of the Rambles, from 1999 to 2013. Or there abouts. Mostly the rambles about the philosophy of being an artist. Pep talks on how to over come THE FEAR. |

12-01-2021:
My
NaNoWriMo
T-Shirt was delivered before Thanksgiving. Each year I celebrate
completing the NaNoWriMo challenge with buying myself a Winner
T-Shirt. I buy the extra large size and give the T-Shirt to my son. My 46 year old son was wearing one of my older NaNoWriMo T-Shirts and I asked him if anyone ever asks what he is writing. He replied, "No, but if they did I'd tell them that I'm a NaNoWriMo plagiarist." He always makes me laugh. |

Completed
the NaNoWriMo 2020 Challenge - December 1, 2020: I participated
in NaNoWriMo in November and wrote 50K words by November 27, 2020.
K-Rave is turning into a series that has new characters who needed
personal histories and a reason for being there. |

My NaNoWriMo T-Shirt was delivered on Christmas Eve. Each year I
celebrate completing the NaNoWriMo challenge with buying myself a
Winner T-Shirt. Each year I've been able to buy a T-shirt one size
smaller than last year, thanks to staying on Keto. My 45 year old son was wearing one of my older NaNoWriMo T-Shirts and I said "We're Winner Twins." and he replied, "No, I'm a plagiarist." He always makes me laugh. |

Completed the NaNoWriMo 2019
Challenge 11-25-2019: Finished 50K word challenge on the same date as last year. Although I will admit to using previously written content going back to 1984. I only began the third volume of K-Rave towards the end of this NaNoWriMo. The bulk of the writing was to tie loose ends together, change a major action section to something more paranormal, and flesh out some characters who decided to play a larger role. So it's still two volumes and the beginning of the third. I feel good about the story now that the fiddly bits were tied up. |

2019 NaNoWriMo 01-03-2019: This is my first Keto Before and After photo. I wore my 2017 NaNoWriMo T-shirt when going to lunch with my sister and she took my picture. Then I started Keto and after 3 months I lost 23 pounds. I also lowered my A1C level from 7.5 to 5.3, reversing a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. I'll be writing more about my Keto journey soon. 03-14-2019: Next thing scheduled is the April Camp NaNo. No required word count. I should be editing my work in progress during this Mercury Retrograde but I've been listening to the 259K words I've written so far in prep for editing. Yeah, that's the ticket. |

7-26-2018: Camp NaNoWriMo
update: What is it that I'm writing about? K-Rave 2: The Crusade - This is the second visit to a dystopian near future where assisted suicide is legal and also entertainment. The K-Raves are an economic engine that supports workers on the lower levels and enriches corporate types on the higher levels. The system is built on good budgeting and great timing. A rich person liquidates all their worldly goods and then has assisted suicide during a big rave. The rave theme is picked by the Host. In the first novel I introduced a half dozen characters with a problem to be solved. The problem is caused by a paranormal event. During this Camp Nanowrimo my intention is to continue the story to the second novel in the series..... To read more |

7-3-2018 Camp NaNoWriMo 2018: https://campnanowrimo.org/ I'm using AuntyAlias as my handle, as always. July is the month for a virtual writing camp. There are "cabins" where you can meet other writers who are working in the same genre. I picked "Horror/Supernatural" because there was no "Supernatural/Paranormal" cabin that I could find. There are a handful of writers there and since it's just the third day folks are just getting to know one another. I'll bet money I'm the oldest writer there. A lot of the NaNoWriMo participants are younger than some pairs of shoes I own. That's OK. My Gemini Moon is young at heart. Another way of saying I'll grow old but I'll never grow up. Camp NaNoWriMo is not the 50K word challenge like the one in November, but I'm aiming for 50K words because it is good to have a goal. I'm continuing the story of K-Rave. I have 89K words written on the first part and I've named this effort K-Rave Part 2 because I'm aiming for a series. I'll give the different parts of the story their own individual names, like K-Rave Part 1: Mz Rose goes MIA. Or something like that. Titles tend to be fluid and prone to change so I'm not sweating that small detail. Still working in Scrivener. Not using the Dragon 15 software as much as I should. Still getting used to saying the punctuation out loud. If I end up getting long winded about Camp NaNoWriMo I'll give it a page of its own. But for now this is just a blurb to let you know what I'm up to. |
