This
tool is called a "kidney" it's a flat metal traditional potter's
tool and usually sells for about a dollar/US. If you sharpen the straight
edge with a knife stone you got a great tool on the cheap. So we use it to
slice sections. |

here's the stack. At this point I had hope for this experiment. |

When
I reduced it and sliced it on the diagonal and flipped one half to get the
chevron it didn't come out as I had expected. Ok so what do we have and how
can we improve it? |

First
off, a center vein would improve the cane. Some darker color in between the
blended cane sections. That'll help some. |

It
doesn't work too well all stretched out and large like this. Let's see what
it does when it's reduced to a smaller size and fashioned into a leaf. Maybe
we can salvage this cane. |
