Those burls and whirls are how malachite looks like when cut crosswise. There's no particular way you put the stacked bowl blobs together, the pictures I've seen in Gemstone and Mineral books show that it looks pretty random and cozy like. This technique can be carved. Any gemstone if constructed in polymer clay like it is manifest in nature can be carved and the design looks realistic. For miniaturists that realism is key to keeping our viewers in a state of voluntary suspension of disbelief when they are looking into our room boxes and doll's houses.
