Putting the Abalone 2002 colors through their paces: This is going to be a pendant. Before I cure it and sand it down I wanted to point out how the pearl layers sink in and the non pearl layers stick out, making an instant texture. Pearl is schooshier and sinks when in layers like this. You could use that texture to your advantage if you wanted it to. It can be even more exaggerated by having the pearl warmer than the colored sheets and move fast. Those cooler sheets will stick WAY out and the pearl will sink naturally. It's ok to have texture. Down with the tyranny of the smooth.
